Hosted by Close Brothers Property Finance director Daniel Joyce, the event gave attendees insight into what it is really like to be a property developer and tips on how to break into the industry.

The evening included a mixture of presentations, question-and-answer sessions, and networking drinks. Guest speakers included Novo Property Group managing director Ben Fearns, Westchurch Homes managing director Richard Topham, and Close Brothers director of bridging finance Joanne Parr.

Fearns told those in attendance about the importance of thinking outside the box in order to remain competitive in a crowded market. Parr then provided a helpful run down of the different ways deals large and small are structured.

Topham, who spoke last, shared his keys to success. Chief among his advice for forging a successful career in development was to surround yourself with good people.

Close Brothers’ Tomorrow’s Developer programme is dedicated to supporting the next generation of housebuilders and developers. To learn more about the programme and future events, visit closepropertyfinance.com/tomorrows-developer.
